A 30-day window, honest handling of living and perishable goods, and refunds to your original payment method.

Our promise
Southwest Mushrooms, operated by Crowe Mycology LLC, stands behind everything we ship. You have 30 days from the delivery date to request a return or report a problem. To start, contact us first at the email below; items sent back without first requesting a return cannot be accepted.
Start a return or report an issue at mike@southwestmushrooms.com. Include your order number and, for any damage or quality issue, a few clear photos.
Living cultures and perishable goods
Liquid cultures, agar cultures, and grain and sawdust spawn are living, perishable products. Please inspect them as soon as they arrive.
- If a culture or spawn arrives damaged, contaminated on arrival, or non-viable, contact us within 3 days of delivery with photos and your order number.
- We will gladly replace or refund items that are damaged or non-viable due to a shipping error or delay.
- Because these are living goods, opened or used cultures cannot be returned for restock unless they were defective, since viability and sterility cannot be verified once they leave our control.
Damages and wrong items
Inspect your order on arrival and contact us immediately if an item is defective, damaged, or if you received the wrong product, so we can evaluate the issue and make it right with a replacement or refund.
Non-returnable items
Some items cannot be returned when the issue is not a defect or a shipping error on our part. These include:
- Sale items and gift cards.
- Opened or used consumables, including tinctures and supplements, for health and safety reasons.
- Opened or used living cultures and spawn, except where defective.
- Digital products such as standard operating procedures, build plans, and guides once they have been downloaded or accessed.
- Custom, wholesale, or made-to-order items, unless they arrive defective or incorrect.
Digital products and memberships
Because digital products are delivered instantly and cannot be returned, all sales of downloadable SOPs, plans, and guides are final once accessed. If a file is missing, corrupt, or does not match its description, contact us and we will fix it or make it right. Memberships can be canceled at any time to stop future renewals; the current billing period is not prorated.
Exchanges
The fastest way to get what you want is to return the eligible item, and once the return is accepted, place a separate order for the new item.
Refunds
Once we receive and inspect your return, we will let you know whether the refund is approved. Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method through Stripe, typically within a few business days. Depending on your bank or card issuer, it may take additional time for the refund to appear.
Original shipping charges are non-refundable except where an item arrived damaged, defective, or incorrect. Return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility unless the return is the result of our error.
